LifeStream Behavioral Center, Inc. in Clermont, FL seeks a Behavioral Tech II to support unit operations, with primary consumer contact and a role in supervising daily living skills and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

The position emphasizes admission tasks, vital signs, routine care, and coordination with nursing staff to promote treatment progress. A high school diploma is required; CNA is preferred; prior mental health/substance abuse experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in substance abuse and mental health setting.
• Desirable to have experience working with psychiatric or co-occurring consumers of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admitting consumers, take vital signs, list possessions and orient to the unit.
• Assist in needs assessment, treatment plan formulation and implementation when needed.
• Learn and apply daily routine principles of mental health nursing.
• Observe all consumers closely and never leave them unattended.
• Report observations and changes to the Charge/Unit Nurse.
