Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Direct Support Provider to work with children and/or adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors in the San Diego area.

The role focuses on one-to-one behavior intervention, daily living skills support, and data collection under Behavior Support Plans. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred background in healthcare or education and experience with individuals with challenging behaviors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in educational or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors is beneficial.
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior areas, including crisis intervention.
• Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, dressing, ambulation, and related tasks.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan.
