Job summary

Eliot Community Human Services in Boston, MA seeks a Behavioral Specialist I to join our Adult Community Clinical Service (ACCS) team. You will provide support to adults with severe and persistent mental illness through evidence-based interventions within residential or community-based settings.

The role emphasizes culturally competent, person-centered care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and driving recovery goals, with a 32-hour schedule and $20.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Experience working with adults with mental illness.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions to clients that focus on problem solving, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement
• Assist the team in providing on-going assessments of client symptoms and their responses to staff interventions
• Support clients in their desire for recovery and rehabilitation in the development of their goals
• Ensure that services provided are culturally competent, strengths based, and focused on rehabilitation and are inclusive of client preferences.
• Provide assistance to clients related to transportation to work sites, daily activities, and appointments
