Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability in New Jersey is seeking a Behavioral Intervention Specialist to assess habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs across several programs and to develop and implement effective interventions. The BIS will train staff, use data to measure progress, assess ADL skills, promote habilitation, ensure treatment plans are followed, and maintain thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• One year of experience working with developmental disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals' habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs.
• Develop and implement effective interventions.
• Train staff to ensure interventions are understood and implemented.
• Interact with individuals to assess ADL skills and promote habilitation.
• Maintain documentation and ensure treatment plans are implemented.
