Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking an Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist to lead and support direct care staff on shift while applying clinical knowledge to habilitative and behavioral needs. The role emphasizes supervision, data collection, and collaboration within the interdisciplinary team.

You will train weekend staff, coordinate behavior-related plans, and work under the BIS to ensure program compliance and quality care for individuals with I/DD in New York locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or closely related Human Services discipline and relevant experience.
• Experience in leading, directing and teaching others in a clinical support setting.
• Foundational certifications such as SCIP-R, CPR and AMAP (or equivalent) depending on program.

Responsibilities

• Perform all Direct Support Professional duties while leading ABIS tasks on shift.
• Lead trainer for weekend staff and support new staff developing core competencies.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and document clinical rationales and outcomes.
• Collect, review and summarize data for HAB/behavioral goals and program progress.
• Coordinate community inclusion activities and ensure safety and supervision levels.
