Boston Medical Center in Brockton, MA, is seeking a Unit Coordinator for its 82-bed behavioral health hospital to support the daily operations of the inpatient psychiatric unit and assist with patient registration, intake requests, and communications with patients, staff and guests.

The Part Time role in Med Surg Unit 9 - 2A requires coordinating tasks, managing referrals, data collection, and maintaining confidentiality while collaborating with interdepartmental staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• One year experience in a medical environment preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Patient Registration
• Coordinate and prioritize tasks, maintaining daily flow of the unit in a complex, rapidly changing environment
• Communicate with staff, families, and other departments utilizing effective communication skills
• Effectively coordinate communications involving incoming calls and e-fax
• Gather intake information and patient records
• Review referrals and verify all information
• Assist with data collection and reporting that complies with local, State and Federal guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information to assure rights are protected
• Maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other external referring agencies
• Other duties as requested by supervisor
