Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required in most states.
• Current CNA certification or at least 6 months of bedside patient care experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instruction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain empathy.
• Completion of BLS and a behavioral de-escalation training per Oceans policy.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and enforces unit rules compliance.
• Uses de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and conducts safety checks.
• Follows universal precautions and infection control policies.
• Performs vital signs, weights, ADL, nutrition monitoring and reports to the nurse.
• Assists patients with laundry, meals, bathroom and mobility needs.
• Adapts care to age, disability and cultural needs.
• Documents patient observations, nutrition, intake, vitals and output.
• Communicates task outcomes and follow-ups to nursing staff.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
