Oceans Behavioral Hospital in Lufkin, TX is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff and provide patient care for adults and seniors with mental health needs.

You will perform vital signs, assist with daily activities, monitor safety, and document observations while following care plans and policies. The role requires compassionate interaction and adherence to regulatory standards.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required, unless hired in certain states.
• Current CNA certification or at least 6 months of bedside, direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and support compliance within unit rules.
• Employ de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; complete unit safety checks.
• Follow infection control policies and attend required in-services.
• Perform vital signs, ADL, nutritional monitoring and report findings to the nurse.
• Assist patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions and mobility needs.
• Individualize patient care activities to age-specific and cultural needs.
• Document patient observation and nutrition/weight/ intake accurately.
• Communicate task outcomes to nursing staff in a timely manner; ensure continuity of care.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
