The role emphasizes de-escalation, accurate observation, and clear communication with the care team. Training in BLS and Oceans-approved de-escalation is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required in all states.
• Current CNA certification or at least 6 months of bedside patient care in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor unit rules and maintain therapeutic milieu.
• Use de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; perform unit safety checks.
