Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support adolescents (12–17) under the supervision of licensed clinicians. You’ll provide direct patient care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement as part of a mission-driven, trauma-informed team.

This on-site role offers growth through a Mastery Program and paid training in de-escalation, MARDC certification, and career ladder opportunities.

Qualifications

• 21+ with HS diploma/GED (degree in human services preferred)
• 1+ year in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services (preferred)
• Willingness for CPR/First Aid, physical intervention training (provided)
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization
• Must pass background and drug screening per MO law
• Bonus for prior mental health or youth experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills
• Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques
• Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams
• Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols

Location: 3205 N Twyman Rd, Independence, MO 64058 Pay: $19.00 – $22 an hour

Schedule Options:

• Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
• Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Shift Options:

• 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• 12:30 PM to 10:30 PM
