Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Springville, UT, seeks Behavioral Health Associates to join our trauma-informed residential program for adolescent girls (ages 12–17). In this role, you provide direct support in a high-acuity environment—helping clients regulate emotions, maintain safety, and engage in therapeutic routines.

You’ll collaborate with therapists and nurses and model healthy boundaries to be a steady presence for teens working through trauma, anxiety, depression, and family challenges.

Qualifications

  • High-acuity response: comfortable managing verbal/physical outbursts and emotional dysregulation in a residential setting.
  • Emotional regulation: maintain composure and set firm, healthy boundaries.
  • Growth mindset: willingness to learn; strong boundary-setting and passion for adolescent mental health.
  • Adolescent experience: background working with adolescents in behavioral health, residential, or crisis environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily routines: support students in following structured schedules and activities with encouragement and accountability.
  • Crisis intervention: use verbal de-escalation techniques; apply holds/restraints when clinically necessary to ensure safety.
  • Crisis prevention: apply proactive strategies to reduce risk and manage crises.
  • Treatment alignment: ensure student progress aligns with therapists' treatment plans.
  • Positive modeling: model constructive behaviors and attitudes for a healthy environment.
  • Documentation: maintain thorough records of interactions, incidents, and progress.
  • Team engagement: participate in staff and house bonding activities to foster teamwork.
  • Housekeeping tasks: perform light daily tasks to maintain a clean living space.

  • Treatment alignment: Ensure student progress aligns with individualized treatment plans developed by therapists.
  • Positive modeling: Model constructive behaviors and attitudes, reinforcing a healthy environment for clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain consistent, thorough records of client interactions, incidents, and progress.
  • Team engagement: Participate in staff and house bonding activities to foster teamwork and community cohesion.
  • Housekeeping tasks: Perform light daily tasks to maintain a clean, organized living space.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • High‑acuity response: Comfortable managing verbal/physical outbursts and emotional dysregulation in a residential setting.

  • Emotional regulation: Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and set firm, healthy boundaries.

  • Growth mindset: Willingness to learn and grow; candidates with strong boundary‑setting and passion for adolescent mental health are encouraged to apply, even without direct experience!

  • Adolescent experience: Background working with adolescents in behavioral health, residential, or crisis environments preferred.

Required:

  • 21+ years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Able to pass criminal investigation background check
  • Current driver's license
  • Ability to learn CPR and First-Aid.
