Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join a mission-driven team serving adolescents aged 12–17 in mental health treatment, recovery, and life-skills development. You will partner with licensed clinicians to provide direct patient care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement.

The role features flexible schedules and shifts, with pay between $19.00 and $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• 21+ with willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (provided on site).
• Experience in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services preferred.
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills.
• Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines.
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques.
• Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams.
• Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols.

• Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Shift Options

• 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• 12:30 PM to 10:30 PM

• Willingness for CPR/First Aid, physical intervention training (provided)
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization
• Must pass background and drug screening per MO law
• Bonus for prior mental health or youth experience
