Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, Oregon is hiring compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support preteens aged 10-17 in a safe, trauma-informed residential setting.

You will help with experiential learning, animal-assisted activities, academic support, and emotional skill-building while maintaining structure, safety, and a supportive environment. Hourly pay ranges from $21.25 to $24.00 DOE, based on experience. This is a full-time role with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years in Human Services preferred; 1 year with adolescents preferred
• Oregon Driver’s License with clean record required
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred (training provided)
• Background checks and drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Ensure client safety and emotional well-being through supervision and documentation
• Maintain structure and boundaries to foster a supportive environment
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care
• Assist with academic tasks and daily routines
• Participate in recreational and therapeutic activities (arts, crafts, sports, nature walks)
• Support residential upkeep, animal care, and occasional meal service

Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, Oregon is hiring compassionate, purpose-driven Behavioral Health Technician's to join our team. In this essential role, you’ll support preteens ages 10-17 in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment, helping them grow through experiential learning, animal-assisted activities, academic support, and emotional skill-building.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Age:21+ years of age or older
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice or minimum of 2 years' experience working in Human Services, preferred.
• Skills:Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
• Experience:Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
• Driver's License:Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean driving record and meet company insurability requirements.
• Certifications:CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training
• Background Checks:Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Oregon state laws.
