Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Stress Center in Indianapolis, IN seeks a PRN Behavioral Health Support role within Psychiatry. You will provide direct behavioral health patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and participate in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

The position requires BLS, crisis prevention familiarity, and relevant nursing credentials. Ideal candidates hold a high school equivalency or higher, with additional psychology-focused education or experience.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month of hire date required; American Heart Association or Red Cross acceptable.
• Crisis Prevention certification preferred.
• Nurse Aide credential from Indiana Board of Nursing preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Provide direct behavioral health patient care.

• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities. Report any changes in condition and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred.
• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• Bachelors degree in psych or similar area of study or 2 years of experience in psych setting
