Avenues Recovery is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program in Metairie, LA. This role provides day-to-day operational support to clinical teams, transports clients, and helps maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year sobriety required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff.
• Record and escalate critical communications/incidents promptly.
• Fulfill administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admit, discharge and appointments.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use.
