Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a dedicated BHT Client Driver to support admissions, transportation, and daily operations at our outpatient facility. You will engage clients warmly, assist with logistics, and help maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, a valid license with CPR, and a year of sobriety if in recovery. Prior treatment-industry experience is preferred, with knowledge of motor vehicle laws for compliant

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license and CPR certification required.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate and empathetic personality.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff.
• Record and escalate critical communications/incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admit, discharge and appointments.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fueled, and ready for use.
