Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Psychiatric Emergency Department. The role provides routine patient care, monitors patients, and assists with safe, therapeutic environment under nurse direction.

The incumbent conducts contraband searches, orients admissions, and assists with holds, restraints, and observation as required. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work with children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness.
• Basic knowledge of age-specific considerations.
• Unrestricted NCI Certification upon completion of training.

Responsabilités

• Provide routine patient care including observation and vital signs.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assist with contraband searches and securing belongings.
• Assist with therapeutic holds and de-escalation as needed.
• Document intake, output, and vital signs.
• Participate in educational and performance improvement initiatives.
