Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks an ED Safety Attendant to provide routine patient care including observation, vitals, and assistance with daily living under nurse supervision. You will support crisis intervention, conduct contraband searches, and help maintain a safe therapeutic environment for patients in the Emergency Department.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and NCI training within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelors in Psychology or Social Work preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification accepted.
• BLS from American Heart Association required; NCI certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care that promotes safety, protects patient rights and dignity.
• Assist with new admissions and transfers, including contraband searches and securing belongings.
• Obtain vital signs, monitor patients, and document observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and emotional support under supervision.
• Perform crisis intervention, de-escalation, and observation as directed by nursing staff.
