Northside Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders and chemical dependency, ensuring safety and a therapeutic milieu.

The position requires 2x12h night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) and may include duties of an Emergency Department Technician to support the care team.

Qualificações

• Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field with 1 year of experience in behavioral health, or 3 years in psychiatric settings.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

The BH Tech will be working 2x12h shifts 7p-730a

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.


• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

PREFERRED

• Patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility
