Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct patient care for individuals with mental health disorders and chemical dependency. The role supports safety and therapeutic milieu within the unit and may include ED technician duties during shifts.

The position requires an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field and either 1 year of related experience or 3 years in psychiatric settings, plus valid BLS certification. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Associates or Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health-related field and either 1 year of experience in behavioral health or 3 years in psychiatric clinical care.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred: patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders and those who are chemically dependent to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Contribute to maintaining the therapeutic milieu and assist with patient comfort and safety.
• May perform duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.
