Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech to provide direct patient care and supportive services for patients with mental health disorders. The role supports the therapeutic milieu, ensures patient safety, and may include Emergency Department Technician duties.

Shifts run 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 2x12 hour nights. Qualified candidates have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related fields and at least 1 year of behavioral health experience,

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health fields with 1 year of related experience.
• Must hold American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to behavioral health patients to maintain safety and comfort.
• Support maintenance of the therapeutic milieu and meet patient needs for safety.
• May perform duties typical of an Emergency Department Technician.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

The BH Tech will be working 2x12h shifts 7p-730a

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Associates Degree or Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

PREFERRED

• Patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility
