Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support patients with mental health disorders and those who are chemically dependent. The role focuses on direct patient care, safety, and comfort within the therapeutic milieu.

The BH Tech will work 2x12h shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, providing necessary support under supervision and may perform Emergency Department Technician duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related behavioral health field.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to behavioral health patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Maintain therapeutic milieu and support patient comfort and safety.
• May perform Emergency Department Technician duties as required.

Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

The BH Tech will be working 2x12h shifts 7p-730a

REQUIRED

1. Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.
2. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
