Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. in Atlanta is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support patients with mental health disorders during night shifts. You will assist with therapeutic milieu, monitor safety, and collaborate with the care team.

The role requires an associates or bachelor’s in social work, psychology, counseling or related fields with relevant experience, and current BLS certification. Weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Required degree in behavioral health with 1 year of experience in behavioral health, or 3 years in psychiatric settings.
• Must hold American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders.
• May perform duties of Emergency Department Technician as needed.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

PREFERRED

• Patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility
