SUN Behavioral Houston in Houston, TX is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or LPN/LVN. The role focuses on the personal care and safety of psychiatric patients, and participation in CQI activities to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, observing behavior and mental status, documenting findings, and assisting with therapeutic groups.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED; CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.
• Preferred: Some college courses; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
• May substitute experience for education.

Responsabilités

• Performs and records patient vital signs and intake/output; notifies RN of changes.
• Observes patients' behavior, mental status and activities; reports changes.
• Identifies behaviors requiring intervention and escorts patients for activities.
• Performs safety checks and documentation; assists with patient transfers.
• Assists with therapeutic educational groups under RN or Clinical Services direction.
• Provides one-on-one observation for high-risk patients; supports additional medical care as needed.
