Job summary

SUN Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a nurse. You will monitor vital signs, behavior, and safety, assist with admissions and daily activities, and participate in care planning and meetings.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation in the EHR, adherence to HIPAA, and a compassionate approach to high-risk patients. A CPR and CNA certification are preferred, with a High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CPR and de-escalation certification.
• Preferred: Some college; CNA certification.
• One year experience in healthcare setting preferred; may substitute education for experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and behavior; notify RN of changes.
• Perform 15-minute observation rounds and document findings.
• Escort patients for meals, activities, and tests; orient to unit.
• Assist with patient safety checks and restraint under RN direction.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and therapeutic groups.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHR and ensure confidentiality.
