SUN Behavioral Health in Houston is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support patient care under RN supervision. You’ll perform vital signs, monitor behavior, and assist with basic nursing tasks in a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, observation, documentation, and teamwork with nurses, therapists, and physicians. On-site shifts require professionalism, adherence to safety standards, and compassion for diverse patients.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required; CPR and hospital-approved de-escalation training required.
• Preferred: some college courses and CNA certification.
• Experience in healthcare settings required; 1 year in behavioral health preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform and record vital signs and intake/output; notify RN of changes.
• Observe patients' behavior and mental status; escalate as needed.
• Escort patients between activities; monitor safety and conduct 15-minute observation rounds.
• Assist with restraints under RN direction and CPI techniques.
• Document in EHR according to standards; participate in treatment team meetings.
• Support orientation of new staff and assist with therapeutic groups.
• Provide general nursing care and assist with ADLs and meals.
• Ensure safety and report hazards; maintain compliance with policies.
