Responsibilities

• Adhere to professional standards and Joint Commission, federal/state regulations.
• Apply supportive behavior and de-escalation techniques to manage patient behavior.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; perform unit safety checks.
• Follow infection control policies and attend required in-services.
• Assist licensed staff with care: take vital signs, ADLs, intake/output, nutrition monitoring.
• Assist patients with laundry, meals, bathroom needs, and mobility as needed.
• Tailor care to age, disability, and cultural needs.
• Document patient observations accurately in the chart and communicate with nurses.
• Communicate task outcomes and follow up on patient care needs with staff.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
