Job summary

COPE Community Services, Inc. in Tucson, AZ seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist to join the treatment team.

The role supervises client care and facilitates daily milieu of programs and services, including activities of daily living skills, educational and recovery groups, and activity therapy. Read and implement each client’s treatment plan, provide positive cues and redirection, and collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required for minimum qualification.
• Must be 21+ years old with AZ driver’s license and clean driving record.

Education

Bachelor's or master's degree (preferred)

Associate degree + 1 year behavioral health work experience

HS Diploma or GED + Peer Support Specialist certification + 2 years behavioral health experience

HS Diploma or GED + 4 years behavioral health experience

Job description

The Behavioral Health Specialist will provide client supervision and care as part of the treatment team. The BHS will supervise and facilitate daily milieu of programs/services as assigned, such as assisting with activities of daily living skills, educational and community/recovery groups, and activity therapy. Read and implement a client’s treatment plan. Provide clients with positive cues and redirection.

Shift

• Sundays through Tuesdays, 7:00am - 7:00pm, Wednesdays 1:00pm - 7:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications ($16.50/hour)

• High School Diploma or GED, no experience needed.

Preferred Qualifications ($17.50/hour)

• Bachelors or master’s degree, no experience necessary OR
• Associate degree plus one (1) years behavioral health work experience OR
• High School Diploma or GED plus Peer Support Specialist certification plus two (2) years of behavioral health work experience OR
• High School Diploma or GED plus four (3) years of behavioral health work experience.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age (automobile insurance requirement) and possess a valid AZ driver’s license with a “clean” or “acceptable” driving record.
• Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.
