Job summary

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a Full Time Peer Specialist to support Behavioral Health Crisis Services in Athens, GA. The role includes one-on-one recovery coaching, group skills training, and collaboration with the treatment team.

You will document interactions in the EHR, maintain confidentiality, and help develop individualized treatment plans with clients and families. The position emphasizes recovery-oriented approaches and community linkage.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a diagnosis of mental illness, addiction, or dual diagnosis and identify as a person with mental illness.
GED or High School diploma and be at least 18 years old.
Experience with leadership, advocacy, or governance and recovery grounding per CPS/CARES guidelines.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one recovery coaching sessions using Motivational Interviewing techniques.
Help client identify and link to community resources that support recovery.
Document client interactions in EHR by end of shift with required consents and privacy.
Participate in treatment team meetings and assist with developing treatment plans.
Provide group skills training and education sessions and follow evidence-based curricula.
