Job summary

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems seeks a clinician to perform crisis and psychosocial assessments, develop and monitor treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling in a Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Athens, GA. You will work under supervision as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role involves crisis intervention, intake coordination, advocacy, community referrals, and ongoing education for clients and families within a day-to-day clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a related area; eligibility to be licensed in the state of Georgia.
• Associate licensure in Georgia is required for Clinician 2.
• Full clinical licensure in Georgia is required for Clinician 3.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessments of behavioral health needs.
• Determines appropriate services and plans of care within timeframes.
• Manages intake process ensuring patient information is accurate for applications.
• Assigns priority and refers ineligible cases to community services.
• Communicates treatment goals to patients and families.
• Monitors progress via interviews and chart reviews; reports to family as appropriate.
• Writes concise progress notes in patient charts as required.
• Develops and maintains community contacts and networks.
• Participates in case management and discharge planning meetings.
• Makes referrals to appropriate agencies for support services.
• Counsels clients in individual and group sessions to support recovery.
• Provides patient/family education sessions as needed.
• Develops and presents educational programs on social work topics.
