Job summary

University Medical Center in Louisville is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize, and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients on a designated unit.

The role requires a Bachelor's in counseling psychology or related field (or 5 years clinical experience), a BLS certificate, and crisis intervention training. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians and families to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree counseling psychology, psychology or related health degree (required)
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years clinical experience specific to unit, program and field.
• Master's degree in counseling psychology, psychology or related behavioral health degree (preferred)
• Active driver's license authorization if required by position/department operations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) accreditation by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
• Facility determined crisis intervention training program (required)

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu and identifies need to initiate structured interventions
• Provides leadership and guidance to unit staff related to programming and interventions
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment and de-escalates crises as needed
• Coordinates and communicates with patients, families, physicians and health disciplines regarding needs
• Performs nursing support tasks and assists with activities of daily living
• Ensures HIPAA privacy and security compliance
