Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, OH is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Adult Behavioral Health Unit. The role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with emphasis on patient comfort, vital signs, and daily living activities.

This part-time position offers 24 scheduled weekly hours with 7p-7:30a shifts, every other weekend and holiday. EPIC EHR usage and strong teamwork are key. Mercy Health emphasizes compassionate care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Basic nursing aide role knowledge and patient care skills.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and safety standards.
• Experience in acute care or long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance.
• Record vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to the nurse promptly.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation and hand-offs.
• Support patient mobility and safety using transfer techniques.
