Job summary

Mercy Health's Lorain Hospital seeks a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for Rehab to provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will perform essential tasks, document care, and support mobility and comfort for patients.

The role requires prior clinical exposure, with BLS preferred or obtained before direct patient care. Full-time schedule is 36 hours weekly (7a-7:30p), with every 3rd weekend and alternating holidays and strong teamwork across the care team.

Qualifications

• Basic patient care experience and accurate documentation.
• BLS preferred or obtained prior to direct patient care.
• Nursing aide training or STNA/CNA equivalent, or PCA/PCT program within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance and within policies.
• Record vital signs and document timely and accurately.
• Assist with mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Communicate changes to the nurse and coordinate care with the team.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information on arrival and departure.
