Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh-area hospitals is seeking a Nurse Assistant/Patient Care Aide to provide direct patient care on an inpatient unit under RN supervision. You will assist with daily activities, monitor vitals, document care in the EMR, and support admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, can read and follow instructions, and basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematics.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Provides and documents direct patient care and activities such as: activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake and output, meal consumption, height and weight, blood glucose testing/monitoring, and documentation in EMR.
Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and safe care practices.
Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, weights, restraints, specimens, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
Participates in unit activity such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning; assists with admissions, discharges, transfers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
