Job summary

Saint Luke's Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for Behavioral Health in the Plaza area. This role emphasizes care coordination and patient communication, with most visits conducted virtually and limited direct patient contact.

You will support psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, manage communications, and assist with authorization and documentation processes within Epic.

Qualifications

• Experience with mental health or interest is beneficial.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Strong care coordination and patient communication skills.
• Proficiency with Epic or electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Manage high volume MyChart messages, phone calls, and faxes.
• Process medication refill requests and patient advice via Epic.
• Prepare and submit prior authorizations for psychiatric medications/procedures.
• Assist with FMLA, disability, school, and work-related documentation.
• Draft and send patient letters and forms.
• Coordinate communication between patients, providers, pharmacies and insurers.
