Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS seeks a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver compassionate, hands-on care for patients with acute mental health needs in an inpatient setting. You will work with RNs and an interdisciplinary team to promote safety, stabilization and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks.
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education.
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations.

Education

Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician license

BLS (AHA) certificate
