St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the night shift in an inpatient unit.

The role involves direct nursing care for patients with acute mental health needs, medication administration, patient monitoring, and care coordination. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on safety, stabilization, and recovery, with a 12-hour night schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and kept current.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks.
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education.
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations.
