Job summary

Lilac Center in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking an Intake and Referral Coordinator to be the primary contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services and for referral sources. You will manage referrals for individual and group therapy, verify eligibility, maintain records, and coordinate scheduling with clinicians and external partners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years in healthcare, behavioral health, case management, care coordination, patient access, or referral management preferred.
• Experience with mental health or counseling programs strongly preferred.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process referrals for individual and group therapy services.
• Coordinate referrals from providers, schools, community agencies, hospitals, insurers, and self-referrals.
• Schedule intake appointments and therapy sessions per clinician availability.
• Manage waitlists and communicate timelines to clients and referral partners.
• Verify insurance benefits and authorizations as required.
