Job summary

Adelante Healthcare West Phoenix is seeking a Behavioral Health Intake Specialist I to serve as the primary intake contact for the Behavioral Health Program and to process inquiries about services. The role ensures timely, professional responses and a thorough intake that meets licensing and insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service field is required/strongly preferred.
• Arizona certification (LCSW/LPC/LISAC/PsyD) is preferred.
• Associate/BHT level staff with intake training or two years’ experience will be considered.
• Minimum of one year of experience with Behavioral Health clients preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality; understanding state/federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake for Behavioral Health Program using required forms and ensuring quality of care.
• Handle telephonic and initial in-person intake assessment, referral and admission activities.
• Ensure prompt response to client and referral needs.
• Provide clinical screening and risk assessment with appropriate oversight and referrals.
• Maintain current documentation and reports required by program and supervisors.
• Participate in department meetings and submit monthly reports.
• Promote client care aligned with Adelante Healthcare’s philosophy and objectives.
• IPS performed during intake; follow ISP procedures.
