Job summary

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) in Ohio seeks a Client Insurance Specialist to support southeastern services. You will verify coverage, obtain authorizations, assist with billing, and communicate with clients and staff to ensure accurate coverage information.

The role requires knowledge of Medicaid and payer processes, strong communication, and collaboration with clinical and billing teams. Travel within designated service areas is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health insurance verification, authorizations, or billing support is required.
• Knowledge of Ohio Medicaid and payer processes is essential.
• Strong communication and data management skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff education and consultation on insurance coverage and authorization processes.
• Develop workflows and materials to improve insurance communication across the organization.
• Serve as escalation point for complex insurance questions and payer barriers.
• Monitor renewals, eligibility changes, and payer updates affecting services.
• Track insurance data in electronic health records to support continuity of care.
• Communicate self-pay agreements and collect payments when applicable.
• Collaborate with clinical, intake, billing, scheduling, and other teams.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality across responsibilities.
