Job summary

Hospital for Special Care is seeking a Registered Nurse Behavioral Health Float to join our team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients and families, assessing needs, planning and evaluating care, and coordinating with the treatment team on a neurobehavioral and autism/inpatient units.

You will work in a second shift, ensuring safety and compassionate care across multiple units. The RN will administer medications, document per ANA standards, and participate in ongoing

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an accredited program and CT RN licensure.
• Current CT RN licensure.
• Demonstrated competence in the clinical setting.
• Valid driver’s license (NBU only).
• Safety-Care training within the orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments within scope of practice.
• Forms, coordinates, and evaluates a goal-directed plan of care.
• Administers medications according to policies and standards.
• Coordinates patient activities for admissions/discharges/transfers with the treatment team.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and responds to emergencies following policies.
