UTHealth Houston’s John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center, the largest academic psychiatric hospital in the country, is hiring a Registered Nurse II to join their team on the day and night shift supporting the Float Pool.

As an RN, you will assess medical and psychiatric needs, supervise nursing staff, administer medications, and coordinate discharge planning in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Orientation is four weeks; you will float to other units as needed and benefit from a comprehensive

Qualifications

• TX RN license required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (or ADN with HCPC experience) per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ medical and psychiatric needs and provide professional nursing care.
• Direct and supervise the delivery of care by LVNs and Psychiatric Technicians in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
• Administer medications and other therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Participate in discharge planning and family instruction.
• Document patient care and outcomes per hospital policy.
