Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Washington, NC is seeking a Direct Care Technician for a full-time, first shift role (8am–4pm) with every other weekend. You will help provide a therapeutic and safe environment and tend to clients' basic needs in a detox setting, using supportive counseling techniques.

Entry-level onboarding is provided; a high school diploma or GED is required, and CNA or peer-support certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but not required.
• Maintain valid state driver's license and auto insurance for work vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic and safe group environment and attend to welfare and basic needs of clients.
• Provide informal counseling in the detox center applying behavioral techniques and supportive encouragement.
