Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Washington, NC seeks a compassionate Direct Care Technician to join our full-time First Shift (8am–4pm, every other weekend). You will help maintain a therapeutic group environment, attend to clients’ welfare, and provide informal counseling using behavioral techniques while supporting basic needs.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required.
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic, safe group environment and attend to welfare of clients.
• Offer informal counseling in the detox center using behavioral techniques and supportive encouragement.
• Support clients' basic needs and socialization skills.
