Job summary

Aspiranet in Merced, CA is seeking a Support Counselor II to work full-time in the Behavioral Health Division. The role focuses on one-on-one youth support, implementing the approved plan, and helping families apply learned skills.

You will document progress, collaborate with the team, and ensure safety and ethical standards while building strong relationships with youth, caregivers, and community partners in a crisis stabilization setting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in psychology-related field or any field plus 2 years experience in behavioral health.
• AA degree with 2 years of experience acceptable.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Meets all state-required employment conditions, including DOJ fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health physical, CA Driver’s License and acceptable driving record/insurance.

Responsibilities

• Meet with youth and caregiver per program requirements.
• Implement interventions as outlined in the plan.
• Transfer skills to caregiver and others caring for the youth.
• Develop and provide youth-specific activities related to case plan.
• Conduct rehabilitation sessions with youth and caregiver.
• Complete timely contact notes to program and funder standards.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, supervision, and program activities.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and agency standards.
