Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, PA is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I for the 2nd shift to join a multidisciplinary treatment team. The role emphasizes monitoring client behavior, providing continuous care, and responding in crises. CPR and de-escalation training are required.

You will conduct safety checks, assist with group activities, record vital signs, and maintain client records while coordinating with staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment on site.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and ensures supervision per guidelines.
• Checks clients for contraband and manages valuables and belongings.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates observations to supervisor.
• Encourages attendance at group therapy and participation in unit activities.
• Engages with clients to achieve treatment goals and facilitates groups.
• Takes and records vital signs and communicates changes to charge nurse.
• Charts in client records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation in treatment.
• Assists with unit cleaning, organizing admits charts, discharge process, and filing.
• Transports clients or coordinates transportation as required.
• Receives shift reports and provides thorough report to oncoming shift.
