Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, PA is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Associate III for the second shift. You will supervise staff, monitor client behaviors, assist in data collection, and respond to crises, while guiding treatment activities and ensuring program schedule adherence.

You will mentor BHAs, lead groups on social and coping skills, and coordinate patient transport and admissions processing as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in human service field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• At least two years’ experience as a BHA required.
• Two or more years’ experience working with the specific population of the facility required.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served required.
• Advanced de-escalation skills required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensures wellbeing and supervision of clients in a safe, structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and adheres to supervision guidelines.
• Documents in client records timely and accurately.
• Leads or co-leads client education groups on topics like social skills and anger management.
• Performs crisis response and medical emergency support as needed.
• Mentors and guides BHAs and coordinates activities and schedules.
• Provides shift handoffs and reports to the oncoming team.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and administrative tasks.
