Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a team-oriented counselor to provide village-based substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, case management, screenings and rehabilitation services under supervision of a licensed clinician.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, commitment to certification, and at least two years in community services. Strong verbal/written communication and proficiency with data reporting are essential in a remote Alaska setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school or GED equivalent.
• Must commit to advancing through a certification program.
• Demonstrates mature judgment and ability to communicate retrieve and present data verbally, written and electronic.
• Must be flexible with work schedule and possess ability for independent actions within prescribed limits.

Responsibilities

• Provide village-based substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, case management, screenings and rehabilitation services.
• Collaborate with licensed clinicians to develop treatment plans and document progress.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families and regional staff.
