Job summary

YKHC Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a Village-based counselor to conduct substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, and case management across rural southwest Alaska communities. You will provide screenings and rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed clinician, with opportunities to grow through certification programs.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in community services; bilingual Yup’ik/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school or GED equivalent.
• Plan to advance through a certification program.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Community Services (volunteer acceptable if documented).
• Demonstrates mature judgment; communicate data verbally, written and electronic.
• Flexible with work schedule and able to act independently within prescribed limits.

Responsibilities

• Provide village-based substance use assessments.
• Deliver crisis stabilization services.
• Perform case management and client screenings.
• Deliver rehabilitation services in line with training.
• Collaborate with licensed clinicians on care planning.
