Job summary

YKHC Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in rural southwest Alaska seeks a village-based Substance Use Counselor. Under licensed supervision, you will conduct assessments, crisis stabilization, case management, screenings and rehab services for diverse communities.

You will support a Tribal health care system serving nearly 30,000 residents across remote villages, work with bilingual Yup’ik/English speakers, and pursue certification while advancing your career with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; plan to pursue certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in community services (volunteer acceptable with documentation).
• Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and electronically.
• Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide village-based substance use assessments and crisis stabilization.
• Conduct case management, screenings, and rehabilitation services.
